Marketing Manager

« Direct Sales? Ladies, I love you all! »

What is your job in the Group and what does it entail?

As Marketing Operations Manager for Stanhome, I have two main responsibilities: the launch of marketing plans and sales campaign scheduling.
I coordinate a team of two Product Managers and two Direct Sales Campaign Managers.

Could you describe your everyday job?

The key element in Direct Sales marketing consists in creating and developing all the media needed to make our sales network more dynamic (leaflets, catalogues, etc.).
From day to day, we create sales offers and schedule launches of new products to be included in the catalogue. This is essential – it encapsulates the relationship between our sales consultant network and our customers.

What appeals to you about this job?

Direct Sales are fascinating. Organisation of the sales network provides thousands of women with job opportunities where they meet lots of people and, in some cases, can become genuine entrepreneurs. It is extremely gratifying to play a part, even indirectly, in their personal and professional fulfilment. And the atmosphere is always friendly and warm.
In my job as Marketing Manager, I also like being in contact with many people. We constantly interface with a whole range of activities: Purchasing, Supply Chain, Sales, Product Development, it’s the company “hub”. It is a form of applied marketing, which allows us to see our work made concrete. I am still amazed when a good idea is put into practice through a marketing campaign which produces value for the business.

What is your training and what positions have you had in the Group since you joined?

I studied business economics in London and Woollongong in Australia. Then I spent three years working for a world leader in Direct Sales as Senior Product Manager, before joining the Yves Rocher Group last year.

What advice would you give to young graduates who would like to do this job?

I would say “just do it !” Direct Sales cannot be taught. It is something that is learnt in the field with more experienced employees and managers. I would also say do not hesitate to contribute your own ideas. Because ideas that are not expressed are ideas without a future!
