Marjorie, aged 26
New product development manager

« Constantly on the lookout to drive the project forward »

What is your job in the Group and what does it entail?

I am an Industrial Development Manager for new products for the Yves Rocher brand, from the marketing brief to the market launch of the product. This job is at the interface of all technical activities, rather like a conductor! I coordinate actions to make sure that the final product will be faithful to initial expectations. All of this at the levels of quality, economics and planning.
Marketing, Production, Quality, SCM: we need to be familiar with all these fields, without going so far as to be experts.

What appeals to you about this job and what qualities does it require?

It is an extremely varied job. We have to handle between 50 and 100 projects at different stages of their development. Strategic, political, innovative or traditional… they all have their own specific features.
You have to be able to skip from one subject to another, manage emergencies without forgetting the most important things. And, above all, to be always on the lookout to drive the project forward.

What do you like most about this job?

Lots of things!
Firstly, I learn something new every day. It’s a job that requires dynamism and leadership. It’s not easy to drive projects forward when there are diverging interests… And yet all the team members must show commitment, motivation and ingenuity.

Finally, this job, at the interface of all the different departments, is a real human adventure. It allows me to meet people in all fields every day, from members of the Yves Rocher Group to our various suppliers.

What is your training and what positions have you had in the Group since you joined?

I am a chemical engineer, a graduate of the Ecole Supérieure de Chimie Organique et Minérale. I first started in 2004 as a trainee. The Group offered me this job with increasingly broader responsibilities. I’ve proved my worth in major projects.

Why did you choose the Yves Rocher Group when you were looking for a job?

The Group’s main values attracted me in the same way as the friendly “family business with international deployment” intrigued me.
I liked working on the development of products that everyone knows and can easily obtain.
